Omschrijving
Colt once had a home in Turkey — until his owner left him at a shelter. Luckily, someone who knew him found out and rescued him the very next day. Since then, Colt has lived in various dog sanctuaries and hotels, sharing space with hundreds of dogs and never really belonging anywhere.
As a mixed breed, he had little chance of being adopted in Turkey, so we decided to give him a real chance at happiness — in the Netherlands. 🇳🇱
Before his journey, Colt received professional training in basic obedience, proper leash walking, crate training, and staying alone. And he truly impressed everyone with how smart and eager to please he is!
He arrived in the Netherlands this summer and was quickly adopted as a second dog. Sadly, after two peaceful months, he was returned because he and the resident dog stopped getting along. 💔
Now Colt is looking for a forever home — one that won’t give up on him. Because he really is the sweetest, most loyal boy with so much potential.
✨ About Colt:
🐕 Energetic, playful, and super smart — he thrives on activity, training, and challenges.
🧠 He loves learning new things — from tricks to agility or scent work, he’s a natural student.
🏡 Indoors, he’s calm, quiet, cuddly, and incredibly well-behaved.
🚶♂️ Outdoors, he’s alert and enthusiastic. He loves meeting people (everyone’s his friend!) and gets very excited around dogs — sometimes a bit too much, which can lead to pulling or barking.
💤 He can stay home alone without issues, though he much prefers being with his humans.
Colt dreams of a home where he’ll be included in daily life — one that gives him both cuddles and structure, activity and love. He’d shine in a family that enjoys dog sports, training, or simply exploring the world together.

Toelichting
Colt travelled to the Netherlands after 4 months of procedures. His vaccinations are done and he has a valid passport and travel titration test. We ask for an adoption contribution of 500 euros to help us continue the work in rescueing and rehabilitating more dogs and cats in Turkey although the actual costs of procedures to rehome dogs from Turkey are higher. Stichting Verhuisdieren is aware of these higher adoption costs and has given permission due to high costs for Turkish animals.
