Boris

Boris isn’t just a dog — he’s the kind of companion who gives you his whole heart once he trusts you. Loyal, eager to please, and deeply devoted, Boris truly wants to do his best. He bonds strongly with his person and thrives on calm leadership, clear guidance, and a steady, predictable routine.

Boris’s story began in Ankara, Turkey. He was just a lonely little puppy, found shivering and soaked in a metro station during a snowstorm near a university campus. A kind volunteer couldn’t bear to leave him there — surrounded by larger stray dogs who wouldn’t let him survive — and took him to safety. After his vaccinations, Boris spent several years in a dog sanctuary before finally traveling to the Netherlands earlier this year. He quickly found a home, but sadly, his family can no longer keep him, so this wonderful boy is looking for his forever family once again.

At home, Boris can become uneasy in busy environments or when unfamiliar visitors come by. In those moments, he may feel tense or frightened — and if approached too quickly, he might react defensively. He’s not aggressive by nature; he simply needs to feel safe and understood. That’s why Boris is looking for a calm, structured home with experienced adopters who respect his boundaries and can give him the reassurance he needs.

Outdoors, Boris truly shines ✨
He’s relaxed, joyful, and completely in his element. He walks beautifully on a leash, listens attentively, and his off-leash recall is excellent. He loves to run and play with other dogs, though he can be a little unsure around big male dogs at first — but with calm, confident guidance, he does great. He can also be startled by loud noises or sudden movements, and he tends to bond more quickly with women, though he absolutely learns to trust men too.

Boris has a naturally protective side — he’ll let you know when someone’s near the property or when delivery vans pass by. It’s simply part of his loyal, watchful nature. Outside, though, he’s a totally different dog: social, happy, and easygoing. He loves sitting calmly at terraces, travels well by metro or train, and even enjoys running alongside a bicycle.

Boris would thrive in a peaceful home with structure, consistency, and kindness. A garden or access to open space would be ideal — he loves to stretch his legs and feel the wind on his face.

Once Boris knows he’s safe, he’s one of those rare dogs who give back everything you put into them — and more. Gentle, faithful, and endlessly loyal, Boris is ready to be someone’s best friend for life. 🐾
